While I was snooping around on other people's blogs, I came across a person with a post called "Wordless Wednesday." Every Wednesday she posts a picture without any captions or comments. However there was a link that took you to a website of other people participating in Wordless Wednesday. I looked at a few of their posts as well and I decided I wanted to try that too! So I've got a 2nd blog. It doesn't have any long posts, infact there are not posts with comments. I've just picked out some pictures that I like for one reason or another and thought I'd share them with you.
Sometimes I like to think that I have a small talent when it comes to photography. Most of these pics are just snapshots of random things, but maybe one day I'll be as good as my friend Jessica or my sister, and you'll see something really neat. Until then, I hope you enjoy little glimpes into my life, without all my comments added to them.

Back to School
Today the kids started school in Great Bend. We are moving there in about about 5 weeks, so we decided to start the school year out there. I took this picture this morning before we left.
Below is another picture of the kids...before they were interested in being the star of the show. I thought you'd enjoy it. Taken 11-2001.

Have you ever held a skunk?
So when I was at my Brother's house in Washington, some people from his ward came over and they brought their pet. I don't know about you, but when I think pet, I think a dog, a cat, maybe a fish. So when they walked in the house armed with a Silverback Skunk named Cotton, I was a little surprised.
Cotton was surprisingly tame and put up with alot of manhandling by 14 kids plus a few adults. Here are some pictures..

On the Road Again...
We are leaving my Mom and Dad's house TODAY...sometime. I'm kind of stalling on the leaving part, and right now my Mom has both of my kids in town. I'll be staying in Tieton, WA tonight with my friend Becky. Tomorrow I'll probably be at my Aunt Jan's in Layton, Utah. She is only a couple of miles off my route home, so it is a perfect stopping point. Wednesday, I'll push until I'm too tired to drive or until I get home! ttfn...

We've been married 11 years!!
On August 9, 1997, in Bellevue, Washington, Ken and I got married in the Seattle Temple. He had been off of his mission for 7 months, and I was 19 years old.
Since then...
We have lived in Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Kansas.
He has worked as a Tow Truck Driver, a Reservations Manager at a hotel, a Collection/Repo man, a Pizza Delivery Guy, Insulation Installer, and a Mortician/Funeral Director.
I have worked at a Grocery Store Deli, a Call Center, a Cemetary, and a Juvenile Correctional Facility.
We have both gotten College Educations.
We have had 3 beautiful children and are blessed to be able to raise 2 of them.
Ken has wrecked and or totaled close to 10 cars
I have spent way too much money on Rubber Stamps and Scrapbooking Supplies.
I wouldn't pick any other person on the earth to go through the hard times or the better times with. I love him very much.
Here's to 11 years!!

Can you balance a spoon on your nose?
It all started when we had the Carlton's and the Stacey's over for New Years Eve and we played spoons. Then, the next night we played spoons with our kids for the activity of FHE. At the end of the 2nd game, one of the kids asked Ken and I if we knew how to balance a spoon on our nose. Neither Ken, nor I could do it, so we practiced...ALOT. Who knew we had that much time on our hands! A couple days later, we balanced the spoons on our nose and the kids took pictures.
Fast forward 5 months ahead, and my sister, Gina, came to visit. The kids asked her if she knew how, and she did, but she said our spoons didn't work very well so she taped a spoon to her nose for our picture.

Now I am here with my sister and we were showing each other our vast talents regarding balancing spoons.
As we were doing this, we wondered if either of our parents had such amazing talents...See the pictures below and decide for yourself.

Why Lie? Need Beer!
This is the last picture I want to share from our trip to Seattle. There are MANY MANY pan handlers and homeless people on the streets of Seattle. On our way back to the ferry, we passed this man and took a picture of his sign. I appreciated his honesty.
Pictures from our day in Seattle
The Space Needle
The observation deck of the Space Needle in Seattle in 520 feet above ground. Here are some pictures we took from the deck.
Olympic Sculture Park, Seattle Washington
There is a really neat sculpture park in Seattle that is full of art too big to display in the Seattle Art Museum. When my sister and I, along with the kids went to Seattle on Tuesday, we spent alot of time there. We took some silly pictures and some that we look at to be more artistic. Gina and I are planning another trip back before I head home without the kids, so we won't feel rushed. Enjoy the pictures!
The Super Slide
My Mom, my little sister and I went down the Super Slide at the local festival in Silverdale. For those of you who know my Mom, you can imagine the battle it was to get her up the stairs so she could go down the slide. I think this was the first time I've ever done a carnival ride with my Mom in my whole life. I was surprised that she was actually willing to participate.
When it started raining, she tried to back out, but after we saw them wiping down the slide, we went for it.
Nicole got her hair cut!
Shari's at Midnight
Dash Point Park--Federal Way, WA
The kids and I were able to meet up with some friends of ours from Vancouver at Dash Point Park on the July 22nd.
Dash Point Park is a state park located right on the Puget Sound and it has a sandy beach. We don't have very many of those around here, so we jumped at the chance to go. Now, when many of you think "sandy beach" you may also think warm and sunny. Don't go thinking that way! We are still in the Puget Sound in Northwest Washington and it was COLD and a little Drizzly.
We played in the water for about 5 minutes and then our feet were so cold we couldn't feel them. We walked back to where our lunches were and ate together, then the kids played in a grassy area for a couple of hours while I visited with our friends, Wendy and Trevor Narvasa. It was a fun day.
