what to name this post...

I don't actually believe in the statement "Better late than never". I'm more of an "I'd rather be 30 minutes early, than 5 minutes late" kind of girl. So I guess being a no-show to my blog each night is not even being a better late than never kind of girl.

But since I haven't been 30 minutes early, or here every night this week, here are a few highlights. AND, I think I figured out my issues with uploading and blogging, that have b een hindering me this week, so I can start updating again.

On Saturday (actually a week ago Saturday) my kids helped me with the typical get the work done day chores.

See this vaccuum? Both of my kids ran into it when they were taking things down the hall to their bedrooms. I didn’t put it in the hall, for the pic, this is where it was. I don’t know if perscriptions need strengthened on the glasses or if they need to wear padded clothing, but both Nicole and Matthew stubbed their toes on it while doing chores. It ended only because I used it, the PUT IT AWAY…a novel concept I know.

Around lunch time Matthew asked me if he could make lunch. I never tell anyone no, if they ask to prepare a meal, so of course I said yes. He decided he was going to cut up some potatoes and fry them as french fries. He didn’t tell me that part. I walked into the kitchen to check on him and this is what I came across. He couldn’t find an extention cord, so he hooked up the fry daddy to a strand of christmas lights and then plugged that into the wall. After I explained to him that we never use an extention cord with the fry daddy, (christmas lights or other…)I showed his the plug in we use.

Happy Birthday to who?

Happy Birthday Kate! I hope you have a great day, and seriously, if there are no good houses in PA, there is always one for a good deal in Great Bend, KS. In honor of your love for photography, here is a pic, just for you...take it or leave it. I haven't decided what it's going to be yet, so you'll probably want to leave it.

ps, more posts are on their way. I'm having trouble uploading my pics. I've been trying to load a couple posts for 3 days. Stay tuned.

Not a typical day.

This morning my phone rang at 6:45 am. It was the secretary from my school. Last night our PE teacher died from a heart attack. He was 39 years old.

Today I'm thankful for my family.

Ken, Nicole, Matthew & Robert
Kent and Charlet Anderson
Wendi, Ryan, Heather, Garen, Adam, Gina and Kyle
Larry, Rhonda, Farrell, Andrea, and Cassie
Devon, Brandon, Joshua, Zachary, Cody, Levi, Regann, Mayson, Harmon, Peyton, Nolahn, Alexa, Courtney, Mikaela, Kelsey, Caitlin, Mark, Hayden, Jacob, Lillie and one more due in April.

I love them so much!

Watching the kids at school today and the teachers, all walking around in a daze was surreal. There really isn't anything else to explain.

We got the schedule today, for the next 4 weeks of activities for our school. This was the Thought for the Week:

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Happy birthday to you, you live in a zoo!

A little shout out to my niece and nephew. They both had birthdays this week. I had it marked on my calendar, but while I was not feeling well, I didn't check it very well. Sorry Regann and Mayson for posting this late! I hope you had great birthdays and you got lots of loot. I love you!

5 things about this or that

When we got home from Wichita today around 1, I was sicker than a dog. I attribute that to all the caffiene I partook of yesterday, lack of sleep (due to said caffiene) and taking a new alergy med. I had so much fun with Ashley and I'm really glad to be home too. I have decided to re-sware off caffiene. Before January, I had had less than 2 liters of soda with caffiene in the last 14 YEARS. The small amount I had drank was in August, when I was the lone driver between Bremerton, WA and Larned,KS. I have been given a small reminder as to why I quit drinking it in the first place.

Nicole was so sweet tonight. She asked me what was for dinner and I got up to look in the dreezer for something easy. As I was digging around in there, she told me not to worry about dinner, she'd take care of it. She made Macaroni and Cheese with Hotdogs and opened a can of green beans. I was never more thankful for Mac & Cheese and Hotdogs in my life! What a good girl she is. She makes my heart smile.

Matthew was also really great tonight. He went and found the dog when he ran away. (naughty dog!) He also came in and got ready for bed with out any argument. When it was time for bed, he didn't try to stay up 5 more minutes, watch TV, or anything else that is typical for bedtimes at our house. He just went straight to bed. Matthew also makes me heart smile.

Ken left for Utah tonight. He's driving there, flying back. Super long story. He'll be home late Saturday/early Sunday. He is a better son than I am daughter. Before he left, he asked me if I was feeling better. I told him no, and he said, 'you don't look like you're feeling better.' Such kind words! I miss him already.

We saw this picture on the way home from Wichita today. I liked it and snapped a shot of it while we were speeding down the road.

I have one more reason why Wichita is not a city. Wichita is not a city because there were no cars coming towards us when we were driving the wrong way on a one-way road. (Ashley was driving this time)

Lastly, Ihave proof that I am addicted to 'tagging' on Facebook/Blogging. I was at Ken's office the other day and I saw something hand written on a sheet of paper. Of all the letters and words there, all I saw was the word 'tag'. I picked up the paer to read about the tag, and it was actually part of the word 'heritage'

I need help!

I got some good videos tonight when my friend, Jessica came over tonight. I'll get them posted this weekend. Have a good night! Heavenly Father loves you! I'll see you tomorrow.

Our Sweet Suite

Tonight I'm in Wichita. My friend, Ashley, had to work here for the day and didn't want to come by herself, so I came down with her. When we checked in, we got a nice little room and we were happy with it. However, upon further investigation, the internet was not working. I called the front desk to get instruction on how to connect, and the lady came right down to the room to show me. When she got here, she said that we didn't have a connection in here, and the wireless was not working either. She returned back to the room less than 10 minutes later, and moved us to a suite! 2 internet hook ups, 2 bathroom, 2 tvs, and a suite deal. (That pun was for my friend Trishelle)

Here are some pics of our room, including one of the toilet paper and the tissues. Kind of gross that someone washandling those 2 items, but funny that they take the time to fold them fancy.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! part 2

We were supposed to have the sisters over for dinner on Monday night, but I really wasn't feeling well. (I was even too sick to blog and go on Facebook--that's practically a death bed if you're wondering) Anyway, I ended up taking the sister's their food. We were going to make and wear our Daisy Head Mayzie headbands that night, so I made the sisters theirs and took them over with their dinner. Here is a pic.

10 Reasons Why...

So my friend, Ashley, and I are in Wichita tonight. We've been here for less than 8 hours, but in that time, we've come up with 10 reasons why Wichita is NOT a real city.
1. Wichita is not a real city because at a lighted intersection, there was a guy driving a tractor, talking on his cellphone, in the turn lane.
2. If Wichita was a real city, there would have been an interstate to drive the 4 miles we were on surface streets, to get to Target.
3. If Wichita was a real city it would have a skyline.

4. You can drive from one side of town to the other in less than 15 minutes.
5. Wichita is not a real city because it has room for EIGHT golf courses and a country club to boot...IN TOWN!
6. Wichita is not a real city because they only have 1 interstate (it does fork though)
7. Wichita is not a real city because the airport (which is not an international) only has 13 gates. Do they have a tram or a skywalk? you ask. I respond? What is that?
8. Wichita is not a real city because I'm sitting in a hotel in the middle of the city, and haven't heard 1 siren!
9. Wichita is not a real city because it hasn't been ruined by a million one-way roads.
10. If Wichita was a real city, when Ashley left her purse at Wendy's for 15 minutes, it would not have been there when we went back to get it.
THANK GOODNESS WICHITA IS NOT A REAL CITY!!

Questions you have to think about and questions you never thought about

So my cousin (Vanessa) was tired of all the tags that ask you your favorite things, about your first baby, and so on. She has taken it upon herself to write a new list of questions. Some that take more though, some that I've never really thought about (zombies). I decided to post it here, so here goes.

1. You are sitting at the computer. Then the zombies attack. What is your plan of action? Pretend like I don't see them, hurry and finish my blog, and then maybe by then they'll have move on. Sometimes it takes me a while to get one of these posts written!

2.What is your favorite scar? How did you get it? Both my knee caps are really scarred up. When I was in 3rd grade, we lived at the top of a hill. My brothers, Garen & Adam, and I would ride down the hill in the back on Tonka Trucks--the dumptrucks. One time, I lost control, (imagine that, in a little yellow dump truck not meant for PEOPLE) fell out and continued to slide down the road. I was pretty pleased with myself. I showed my kneecaps for show and tell that week.

3.What is your deepest fear? Being eaten by man-eating garter snakes, getting my fingers caught in the hand mixer beaters, and losing all my teeth.

4. Have you done anything illegal? (aside from under age drinking, unless you can give us a great story about it) I'm a trespasser. Breaking and Entering into construction sites that aren't completed. They aren't finished, so I'm not breaking anything in order to enter.

5.Tell us about your birthmark. It's a light blotch on the back of my neck. My sister Heather has one too. I think Gina may also. I just tried taking a picture of it, but it's too light.

6.During your childhood, what did you do that your mother would have killed you for had she found out? My deepest fear is actually being killed by my Mother, so I'm not gonna tell you!

7.What is your favorite sense?( Sight, smell, ect...)Sight. I'm thankful that I can see the seasons progress, my children grow, gross faces Matthew likes to pull, and funny ones that Nicole shows me. I could go on and on, but I'm thankful I can see.

8.What do other people do that drives you insane? Talk loud or sing in the grocery store, pass me on the interstate then slow down to 5 miles slower than I was going, and chew and or talk with their mouths full of food.

9.What was your most embarassing moment? I'll save this for another post, it's long and involved.

10. What was the coolest thing that you have ever created? (or planned to create) Nicole, Matthew, and Robert Cheney are pretty much amazing! I also build some pretty awesome blankets.

11. When you were a kid, what did you just not understand until you were older? I couldn't figure out how my Aunt Shirla fit into the family. I knew she was older than my Mom, and I knew my Mom was the oldest. It turned out that Shirla is my Grandma's sister. Who knew? I figured that out when I was 11, at my Grandma's Funeral.

12.If you could take a trip anywhere where would you be headed? Why? NYC. I've never been there, and I want to see broadway shows, the statue of liberty, I want to go to the Manhatten Temple, Central Park, and I want to do photo shoots at all the places that are seen in my favorite movies.

13. What is your current addiction? Facebook and Blogging

14.What do you think everyone should experience at least once? I don't think there is one specific thing that EVERYONE should do. I think everyone should try something new each year and document it.

15.What is your ultimate breakfast? Cold Pizza or Chinese Food.

16.If you could recomend any website, due to its high humor content, what would you recomend? Go to YouTube and watch any of the Stuart clips from Mad TV and also Barats and Bereta. Their Mother's Day Video and some others are really funny. I haven't found anything new lately, besides my friends' blogs.

17.You are walking down the street and the zombies attack. What is your plan of action now? I'll pretend they are a tornado and hide in a ditch or go to the newarest tornado shelter.

18.What was your favorite TV show as a kid? The Cosby Show

19. Please elaborate on your theory as to why the TV remote control has to many unused buttons? I love counting things. I don't really know what all the buttons do, or why we have so many, but I'm glad mine are equally divisable by 3!

20.What was the longest you have ever stayed awake? Why? I've stayed awake for 24 hours a few times. the first time was when I was in 3rd grade, I stayed the night at my friends house, Katie Peters. We stayed up all night and watched MTV. yikes!
