Nicole: Mom, do you think my hair is growing out nicely?
Me: I already told you I that I thought it looked nice.
Nicole: No, you told me to be quiet.
I probably at some point did tell her to be quiet, but we did have a nice conversation about her hair.
Sadly, perception is reality.
